What materials are the pipes made of? The pipe is made of acetal, which is known to most as delrin or polypenco. We will build in african blackwood upon request.

What kind of bag does the pipe come with? The pipe come with a Ross Synthetic bag. We use the "extended small" without a zipper exclusively. We find this bag fits a wide range of postures. Other sizes are available.

What about moisture? We build every pipe that is mouth blown with a special tube-type water trap that is designed as an integral part of the pipe. The pipe is also completely moisture-proof.

Are the reeds plastic? The chanter reed is a special plastic reed made by Jake Watson of Waterloo, Ontario Canada. The Drone reeds are handmade plastic inverted tongue reeds.

What key are the pipes in? All Fairylore Pipes will play in Bb and Concert A 440. You only need to purchase the second chanter. Our Fairywing Pipes will play in Bb, A 440, and high D. We add the Alto drone to accomplish this. All existing pipes can be converted to play in D with our simple four-drone conversion kit.

What about the blowing pressure? The Fairylore pipes are perhaps the closest in feel to the full-size highland pipes to date. No other manufacturer has ever come this close. That is what makes this pipe a great indoor practice instrument.

Is the pipe chanter smaller? No, we have tried to make the hole spacing as close the a great Highland pipe chanter as possible. Finger adjustment is minimal at best.

Do you make other pipes? We are a diverse company that concentrates its effort on various smallpipe designs. Call us with your question or inquiries or use our Contact page. We would love to discuss your needs. Click here to see our pipe page.

How do I keep my pipes looking new? We use Brillianize polish by Kleenmaster. Click here for more information.
